The way that fashions are photographed can mean the difference between a designer or a store selling a lot of the design, or tanking and having to give the rest to discount stores to sell. This applies to print, video, online or still photography. The profession can be as grueling as being a model, but long hours and hard work may provide an excellent living and portfolio that can take a person into some exotic realms. Some fashion photographers work domestically and a few have international assignments some of the time. Photography equipment is expensive but once you get some good cameras and accessories, and treat them right, then you won't have too much outlay for equipment. Training can be gotten by a lot of different methods. Going to school, apprenticing to a photographer or just leaping right in and giving it the old college try -- whatever works for you is all good.
